Graham’s Vintage Port, 1977

Thrown quite a bit of sediment and the cork had seeped a little. An older looking port, but after a couple of hours in a decanter it has lovely cherry stone, mixed spice and raisins on the nose. The palate is soft and full of red fruit compote, then some spice and an alcohol spike midway through. Lovely pipe tobacco flavours with some bitter caramel towards the finish with some warmed brandy aromas. Not a great bottle of this lovely port. 87pts (Oct 2016)
