The port industry is made up of various sizes of producer. Some are simply farms, or quintas, which produce their own ports from their own grapes. Others are multinational companies, owning several ‘brands’ and making wines from grapes grown on their own land or grapes bought from contracted growers.
Also, due to the long life that some ports have, we may have entries for port houses which may not exist anymore, so because of this, please don’t view this as a comprehensive guide to port producers. It is simply one person’s tasting history.
