A very sweet and jammy aroma with lots of bramble, coffee and very juicy fruit. The palate is very sweet, dark chocolate and with a lot of alcohol and spice coming out. Big and gutsy with a dark, woody element. It is very drinkable, but again, just a bit powerful and crude compared to its new house style. 87pts (June 2011)

Ballsy! Up front bramble, semi dried fruit with loads of coffee. Very balanced, all chocolate, cocoa and cigars. A bit crude. 86pts (June 2011)

Savoury with raspberry and earthy notes, chilli chocolate and blueberry. Bright and herbal, all about the purity of the fruit. Clean cassis, tobacco and cocoa nibs. Very well made wine. 90pts (June 2011)

Lovely light fresh cassis, a bit of menthol and fresh cut mint. Cinnamon and cloves emerge with an inviting, fresh sweet aroma. The palate is thick fruit, well integrated alcohol and then stalky elements coming with leather and clove rock. Very tasty. 88pts (Nov 2010)

USED TO TOAST THE MEMORY OF HENRY TURNER, KINDLY GIVEN TO US BY HIS WIDOW, ANN.
Quite alcoholic at first, but then a lovely cherry liqueur, quince and perfume aroma. The palate is wonderful, lovely dried fruit, warm spice with well integrated fruit, toffee and pretty rose aromas. It has passed its prime, but is a delightful old wine. 90pts (Sept 2005)

Coca Cola and/or Vimto on the nose with a massive spice and jam aroma. The palate has quince jelly, HUGE alcohol. Nice enought, but not much going for it. Did not score. (April 2004)
